This short paper is suitable for session 6. It is written to report the result of the recent survey of the lashed-lug
boatbuilding technology in the Southeast Asian region. In addition to desk-based assessments, investigations were
undertaken at Khlong Thom in the south of Thailand, Chau Tan remains in central Vietnam, and Butuan in the
south of the Philippines. This project aims to observe the variety of the lashed-lug boatbuilding to better
understand meaningful, technical connections.
