During the Goryeo and Joseon Dynasties numerous ships loaded with ceramics and grains went to the capitals
Gaegyeong and Hanyang in the West Sea. We know this from 14 shipwrecksfrom the Goryeo and Joseon Dynasties
and tens of thousands of artifacts such as Goryeo celadon, Joseon grayish-blue-powdered celadon, and Joseon
white porcelain. Now as ancient artifacts are excavated in Mado, Taean and Myeongryangdaecheopro, Jindo, there
is a possibility of ancient shipwrecks.
